Cosio
Farewell...

Dear Friends,

A few nights ago, we as a band got together and agreed that it is time to leave Cosio as we know it today, behind us. We toasted in tears the idea of ending this band where it began, as friends. In these five years playing together we have been lucky enough to make the kind of music that meant the world to us, and to do so in the company of family and friends both onstage and off. In its origin, this band was first a union of friends and second a deep commitment to music as a lifestyle. That commitment has brought us to many places we never thought we'd see, singing many songs we never thought we’d sing. As much as we have gained from what that commitment has brought to us, it was never meant to overshadow the relationships between us. Plainly, this has been the case for many months now.

Cosio, to us, was so much more than a band. It was a family who gathered for dinner parties, commiserated over drinks, spent weekends away, fought in the ranks together, and found a reason to celebrate just about any occasion. We miss the genuine motivation to be together as friends without the distractions and expectations of a band. The best way we know to get that back and to preserve the ideals of Cosio, is to let it go.

We are humbled and in awe of the love and dedication you have shown us through the years. While the music and friendships were the driving force behind the journey, the light at the end of the tunnel was all of you. The community that you all formed around the band made us believe that anything was possible, and that we really were doing something people cared about. We went further then we ever could have without you, and for that we are forever in your debt. From counting us off in Eve, marching with us in rebellion at The Tangier, singing and dancing along at shows, revolting against venues and demanding one more song, to putting our music into the hands of others …we thank you.

So on Tuesday March 16th at 9pm, we as Cosio, would like to say goodbye and thank you. It will be a celebration of five years of music that has defined so much of who we are as individuals and friends. One more time we will take the stage to signify the end of one age and the beginning of another. Fittingly it will take place at The Hotel Café, a sort of home away from home for us over the years. We want to invite you all to participate in this farewell. Come early and share a drink with us. If you are so inclined to jump onstage and join us during a song…please do. If we did not make it clear enough in the past, hear this now…you all have meant the world to us. Cosio owes a big portion of its heart to the people in the crowd, and we could not leave without saying goodbye.

We will not be far. You will find the five of us together again at bars and shows, living rooms and dinner tables. Come along with us as you have done so many times before. Music will be played, always.

With sweet laments,
Cosio
